Logbook Servicing
Whenever you purchase a new vehicle, the manufacturer provides you with a warranty which protects you from the cost of parts failures. This warranty is only valid, however, if you have the vehicle periodically serviced according to the manufactuer, by a certified mechanic, who records and stamps these services in your vehicle’s logbook.
It’s a common misconception that you can only keep your warranty by getting your car serviced at the dealer workshop. It’s actually illegal for the manufacturer to demand you visit a specific workshop, so exercise your right to choose!
Here at Marco’s Automotive, our mechanics are fully certified to provide logbook servicing to all:
- Petrol vehicles
- Diesel vehicles
- LPG vehicles
- Hybrid vehicles
Roadworthy Certificates and Vehicle Inspections
Whenever a vehicle is sold or being re-registered, it must first pass a roadworthy inspection and be issued a roadworthy certificate (RWC) by a licensed tester. The roadworthy inspection is a thorough check of the entire vehicle, to ensue it meets the legal standards to be safely driven on Victorian roads. It’s important to remember that a roadworthy certificate only ensures the vehicle is safe to drive, not that it is in good condition, or reliable.
If you want to make sure the vehicle you’re looking at buying is in good condition, we would recommend a pre-purchase inspection. This ensures you know exactly what you’re buying, and helps you avoid any nasty surprises.
Pre-trip inspections are a good idea whenever you’re planning a long road trip, or a camping trip out in the bush, for this simple reason: Would you rather discover there’s an issue with your engine in a mechanics workshop, where it can be fixed, or out in the middle of nowhere, thousands of kilometres from anything, when you go to start your car and it dies?
Here at Marco’s Automotive we are fully licensed testers for roadworthy certificates, and can help you with pre-purchase and pre-trip inspections.
Contact us today!Brake Services
Your brakes are the most important safety feature that your vehicle has. While other safety systems, like airbags, reduce the severity of an impact, your brakes can also act preventatively, and the condition of your brakes can often be the difference between an accident and an emergency stop.
Your brakes also suffer an astonishing amount of wear. After all, they routinely bring over a tonne to a complete stop, often from high speeds. For this reason, we agree with brake manufacturers that you should have your brakes checked at least once a year.
Marco’s Automotive can help you with:
- Brake component replacement
- Brake component machining
- Brake hose repairs
- Brake restorations
Steering and Suspension Services
Faults and flaws in your steering and suspension affect your handling and ride comfort, causing issues such as play in the steering wheel, body lean through corners, or vibrations in the steering wheel at speed. Your suspension is also responsible for maximising the grip that your tyres exert on the road surface, so a poor suspension can also increase your stopping distance.
Here at Marco’s Automotive, our team of expert mechanics can provide the following steering and suspension services:
- Wheel alignments
- Shock absorbers, springs and struts
- Wheel balancing
- Bushing replacement
- Power steering repairs and replacement
Exhaust Services
When most people think of what fuel an engine needs to operate, they think petrol, maybe diesel. What a lot of people forget, is that oxygen is just as important to combustion as the petrol. The exhaust draws waste gases out of the engine bay, allowing fresh air to flow in and fuel your engine. So your exhaust might not seem important, but it is vital to your engine running smoothly.
Marco’s Automotive’s skilled technicians can fully repair or replace your exhaust system.
Contact us today!Air Conditioning
There’s not much worse in life than being stuck in traffic with broken air conditioning on a hot day. Your AC actually degrades more from disuse than from use, as the rubber tubing and seals dry up and crack, allowing the refrigerant gas to leak out and rob your aircon of its cooling power.
Here at Marco’s Automotive, we can fully repair your air conditioning (AU25484), starting by replacing any faulty compressors and condensers, then swapping out any cracked tubing or seals, and finally recharging your system with refrigerant once we’re certain it’s airtight.
Contact us today!Clutch and Transmission Services
As part of the assemblage that transmits power from the engine to the wheels, the transmission is comprised of some of the mos intricate and complex machinery in your vehicle. Due to their sophisticated nature, even minor flaws can quickly escalate into extremely costly repairs.
If you notice whining and clunking when changing gears, a lack of responsiveness in your gears, a burning smell after driving, or leaking fluid, you may have an issue with your transmission.
Marco’s Automotive’s expert technicians can help you with:
- Servicing
- Repairs and replacement
- Manual transmissions
- Automatic transmissions
- Differentials
- CV Joints
Engine Services
If your engine isn’t working, you don’t have a car, you have an expensive, heavy, and ugly lawn ornament. The engine is the heart of your car and any issues with the engine need to be addressed quickly, ideally as preventative maintenance rather than repairs.
Here at Marco’s Automotive, our skilled mechanics can provide the following engine services:
- Rebuilds
- Reconditioning
- Testing
- Engine blocks
- Cylinder heads
- Camshafts
- EFI diagnostics
Cooling System Services
If your radiator, or another part of your cooling system, is malfunctioning, it can cause myriad issues from reduced fuel efficiency and power output, to decreased engine lifespan. If these problems go untreated for long enough, they will render your vehicle immobile, with the cost of repairs being comparable to buying a secondhand car! If you notice your temperature gauge is redlining, pull over immediately and allow your engine to cool, then either carefully drive to a nearby workshop, or organise a towing service.
Marco’s Automotive can provide the following cooling system repairs:
- Radiator/heater unit repairs and replacement
- Head gasket replacement
- Coolant flush and leak check
- Thermostat check and replacement
Auto Electrical Services
If the engine is the heart of your vehicle, the auto electrical network is the brain. In modern vehicles, the auto electrical network handles everything from playing music and measuring fuel consumption, to assisting with braking and gear changes, even monitoring your engine and putting your vehicle into limp mode, to prevent lasting damage.
Here at Marco’s Automotive, our auto electricians can help you with:
- Alternators and starter motors
- Battery check and installation
- Component test and replacement
- Diagnostic scans
Tyre Services
Your tyres connect your vehicle to the road, with the surface area of a tyre actually touching the road, ‘the contact patch’, being roughly the size of outstretched hand. This makes the condition of your tyres critical to performance, handling, and most importantly road safety.
While they may seem simple, your tyres are actually a feat of modern engineering. Your tyres’ treads are painstakingly designed by engineers to provide maximal grip- for example, they act as channels to divert water away from the contact patch of the tyre in wet weather, to prevent your car from aquaplaning.
These treads are even designed to continue doing their job as they wear, but if your tyres aren’t balanced, or your wheels are out of alignment, the wear will be uneven, and your tyres will lose effectiveness quickly.
Here at Marco’s Automotive, we can help you fit and balance tyres, and provide tyres from major brands for all makes and model of:
- Car
- 4WD
